Air source heat pump installation
We install air source heat pumps across Worcestershire, Warwickshire, and South Birmingham. A heat pump is sized to the house it goes in, so we survey and measure the heat loss before we put a price on one.
Why can you not tell me what a heat pump costs?
We price a heat pump after a survey, not from photographs. A heat pump is sized to your house — room by room, and the fabric of the building changes the answer. We come out, work out the heat loss, and put a written price on the system that actually fits. Book the survey on 01527 304100.

You get a price
The price for a heat pump follows the survey, because the heat loss of the building decides the size of everything. We come out, work out the heat loss, and put a written price on the system that actually fits. The one thing we do put a clock on is a price from photographs sent on WhatsApp, and we come back on those within 2 working hours. A heat pump is not one of the jobs we price that way, so that window is not this one. It is not a reply window for anything else you send us either, and it is not a time we will be at the door.

We do the work
The install is the outdoor unit, the pipework into the house, the cylinder and whichever radiators the survey said had to change. We commission it against the heat loss we measured, so the flow temperature it runs at is the one the design assumed.
What are the six things I would ring up to ask about this job?
Will a heat pump actually keep my house warm in winter?
A heat pump still takes heat out of cold air, and it is designed against the coldest day your area gets rather than an average one. What decides it is whether the house can give out enough heat at the lower water temperature the pump runs at. That is what the survey measures, and the work it leads to is described above.
Do I have to replace all my radiators?
Usually some of them, and rarely all. The ones that change are the ones in the rooms that lose most heat for the radiator they have. The survey says which, room by room, before anything is ordered.
Where would the outdoor unit go on my house, and how loud is it?
It needs air moving freely into the front and out of the back, so it sits clear of a wall and clear of a fence. The noise is a fan and a compressor, and the maker publishes a sound level measured at a stated distance. Where it can go on your house is one of the things the survey settles.
Can I keep my hot water cylinder?
Usually not, and the reason is the coil inside it. A heat pump feeds the cylinder at a lower temperature, so it needs a much bigger coil to get the water hot in a sensible time. The cylinder is part of the install described above.
Why can you not just give me a price on this page?
Because the number is decided by the building, not by the machine. Two houses that look the same from the road can want different sized pumps and a different amount of radiator work. A figure typed here would be right for one of them and wrong for the other, so we survey first.
Is my house too old for a heat pump?
Age is not the test; heat loss is. A solid-wall house with large radiators can work, and a newer flat with small ones can be the harder job. The survey gives you the answer for your house rather than for houses like it.
